Gibson Off to Fast Start as He Makes It Two-for-Two in Kansas City

(NEWS RELEASE)

Adam Gulley Wins Lites Eastern Regional Opener

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (January 15, 2011) – Two rounds of the 2011 AMA Arenacross Series are officially in the record books and only one man’s name sits in the winner’s column as TUF Honda’s Jeff Gibson, of Blacklick, Ohio, captured his second win in as many races inside Kansas City’s Kemper Arena. J&W Cycles Kawasaki’s Adam Gulley, of Jonesburg, Mo., took the opening round of the Arenacross Lites Eastern Regional Championship.

Gibson, the 2009 AMA Arenacross Series Champion, picked up right where he left off last weekend in Tulsa. After yet another good start, Gibson battled with Babbitt’s Monster Energy/TiLUBE Kawasaki presented by Maxxis’ Tyler Bowers, of Danville, Ky., for the first 15 laps before Bowers crashed out of the lead. Gibson took advantage by assuming the lead and never looked back. Foremost Insurance/Spinechillers Racing/HondaofFairfield.com’s Nathan Skaggs, of Chillicothe, Ohio posted a strong runner-up finish while Babbitt’s Monster Energy/TiLUBE Kawasaki presented by Maxxis’ Chad Johnson, of Rhinelander, Wis., rounded out the podium in third.

In the Arenacross Lites Main Event, it was a great battle between Foremost Insurance/Spinechillers Racing/HondaofFairfield.com’s Patrick Massie, of Washington Court, Ohio, and Gulley. In the end, Gulley outlasted Massie for the win while Central Yamaha’s Zachary Jaynes, of Princeton, Texas, finished third.

Gibson made it a clean sweep of the evening by also capturing the Dash for Cash.

The AMA Arenacross Series continues next weekend from Dayton, Ohio, and the Ervin J. Nutter Center next Saturday at 7:00 p.m. ET.
