Jeff Farmer (52) leads fellow Floridian John Ashmead (4) and the rest of the pack in the 1989 Road America Supersport final. Farmer went on to win the race by 1.29-seconds over Ashmead. Tom Kipp was third. Yamaha dominated the race. Nine of the top-10 riders were on Yamaha FZR600s. Only Texan Glenn Smith, who finished tenth on a Kawasaki, kept Yamaha from a clean sweep of the top-10.
