AURORA, Ill. (January 8, 2011) – Feld Motor Sports® announced today that Makita, a worldwide manufacturer of technologically advanced power tools, is continuing its longtime support of Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship. As a result of their support of the series, Makita will become the official power tool of the championship.

“We welcome Makita back for a highly anticipated year for Monster Energy AMA Supercross,” said Tim Murray, vice president of sales, Feld Motor Sports. “Makita’s interactive pit display continues to be a fan favorite and it allows supercross fans to see the dependable products that Makita is known for.”

Monster Energy Supercross is a part of Makita’s growing presence in racing and action sports, both as a sponsor and as a power tool of choice in the pits. Makita and it’s long term partnership with the factory Rockstar/Makita Suzuki team has yielded over 20 championships in Supercross, Motocross, Superbike, ATV, and Amateur – including Ryan Dungey’s historic 2010 championship run in Supercross and Motocross.

The 2011 Monster Energy Supercross season kicks off on Saturday, January 8 from Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif. From there, the world’s best riders travel throughout the country over 16 additional weekends, eventually crowning a champion on Saturday, May 7 in Las Vegas.
