Hall ‘N Still Racing, with riders Michael Martin, Bruce Baldus and Jim Still finished second to Valvoline Suzuki in the WERA National Endurance race at Memphis Motorsports Park in September of 1990.
Here veteran endurance competitors Royale Racing races Hall ‘N Still. The Royale Suzuki was ridden by Doug Henry and Franklin Knight. Hall ‘N Still and Royale were battling for first in the Heavyweight Production class and second overall. Royale had picked up rider Franklin Knight from Mid-South Racing for Memphis. Knight was putting in a fine race for Royale which didn’t make Mid-South’s Doug McIntosh extremely happy.
“I didn’t find out that Knight wasn’t going to ride for us until I showed up at the track and he’s was in Royale’s pits. He must have made the decision in the last 48 hours because I just talked with him on the phone a few days ago.” said an irate McIntosh. Mid-South picked up John Erdrich as a replacement for Knight.
Hall ‘N Still came from behind in the last hour to pass Royale to secure second. Royale Racing had their best finish of the season, despite running out of brakes in the last hour.
