We (GT Racing) helped “open” Grattan to bike races back in the 70’s
While I didn’t “race” (I was too slow) … I put in laps, plenty of laps.
    Break in’s, open practice days
Once – took my 1100Sabre (bit too much rake on that one) …
Didn’t have leathers, borrowed a suit from Jimmy Kemp one open practice day.
Well, Jimmy was about 3-5 inches shorter than me … I had to have someone else strap my helmet – couldn’t raise my arms.
    Anyway – fun track

And, of course, Fritz “owned it”

I recall the track record at Grattan at one time was held by Jimmy Adamo, then Lance David(on a Yamaha TT500 single), Jim Knipp (on a Yamaha 500cc GP bike)and I don’t recall beyond that, but a rich history there. Thanks for helping open it to motorcycles.

  3. Hey Larry, this looks like the 2nd turn coming off the straight, running counter-clockwise. I thought it was turn 3, and the low angle of the shot obscured the front straight, but you would see the hill on the other side, not trees. Looks like C Prod, as I’m pretty sure that’s a 600 Hurricane tailing Steve.

  4. Kevin,

You’re right it’s one of those turns, but I can’t say which one for sure. That is a Hurricane No. 818 trailing Steve. Can’t figure out who the rider is.
