Donny Greene (No. 3 on the Dianetics-sponsored Yamaha) battles Danny Walker (101) in the WERA Pro Air Tech Formula Two race at West Palm Beach, Florida’s Moroso Motorsports Park in September of 1991. Early in the race Greene and Walker broke through to the lead and began to gap the rest of the field. For ten laps the duo went wheel to wheel in some of the most closely contested races of the season. The two brought the pace down to the 1:24 range, a record for 250’s at Moroso. Greene would lead through a few turns only to be out braked by Walker, and then Greene would do the same thing back to Walker. It appeared the race would go to the wire. With about five laps left in the race, Greene suddenly had his biggest lead of the race, ten bike lengths lead over Walker. Walker’s Gold Hill Yamaha had burned up its carbon fiber brakes. “I was going as hard as I could and that was very tough on the brakes,” said Walker.
