Glenn Cooper, or “Coop” as he was known to his fellow competitors, races his Yamaha FZ600 in a WERA C Production race at Roebling Road in 1986. “Coop” improved rapidly that year and came on strong at the end of that season, earning top finishes in the novice ranks leading up to the Grand National Finals. He finished just behind Paul Bray and Scott Russell in the final Southeast Region race at Talladega that season.

HA! I just got a message from Larry “Motorman” Brown to go to this site and scope out some excellent lensmanship. Thanks Larry!
I’ve not drug a knee since June 29th, 1993. Crashed pretty hard at Rd Atl dicing it up with Dave Estock all day until that one race… Broke the hell (AGAIN!) out of my left tib/fib and put me out of commission for about a year.
The good news is that just a few weeks prior I had done my first car event at Rd A in my street RX7 Turbo, and was hooked!
I ran a Formula Mazda in the Star Mazda Series for a few years, 1999-2003; maybe some of you saw me on Speed TV. I also started writing for Formula Car Magazine about that time.
Check out / Google “The Coop Chronicles” for a laugh…
I currently race open wheel/formula cars in SCCA, but true to my motorcycling roots, the class I run is Formula B, also known as F1000, as in 1000cc bike engines.
I took the F1000 Championship in 2009, and am currently 2nd in Nat’l points.
Larry, Pretty killer site you have here; I’ll be back!

Good to hear from you. Yes, I’d heard you were flying around on four wheels now. Congrats on winning the championship and good luck in your car racing.

One thing “COOP” failed to mention is that one of my former tuners (Larry Brown being the other)who also tuned for Scott Russell and Aaron Yates is building the 1000cc motorcycle engines he raced to the F1000 Championship with in 2009. That tuner would be none other than Vic “The Victor Difference” Fasola! It’s a very small world indeed and as much as some things change many things remain the same!
