Wisconsinites Andy Fenwick (747) and Ed Key (34) race in a WERA race at Grattan Raceway Park in July of 1986. Fenwick and Key were two of the leading racers in WERA during the late mid-to-late 1980s. It appears Andy is racing a Yamaha FZ600, while Key is on a Honda 500 Interceptor, an interesting match up. Note the gravel across the turn that Fenwick and Key have to negotiate.

I bought a set of RD350LC pipes off Andy back in the day after one broke in half during a WERA endurance at Blackhawk Farms with Tony Montenegro on the seat. Can you say Bratwurst? Them BBQ girls were hot! Andy is a righteous dude, great rider.

Just don’t ever race him on the beach with bicycles. Sorry, inside joke. Suffice to say Andy likes to win no matter if it’s on the road course or on Hilton Head.

Always great racing when these guys were on the track together. Ed and his Trim textile “leathers”. I recall these being a weight savings device and he still uses them. And the Simpson helmet that very few wore back in those days.
