We all know Dave Despain as TV commentator and host of Speed’s Wind Tunnel, fortunately I’ve been around long enough to remember Dave as a talented road racer. This is a photo of Despain racing his GSXR at Roebling Road in February of 1986. In this era Despain, a former flat tracker, was good enough to run up front in novice races and often moved up to race the first wave of experts.
