In the film days there were times when you’d want a different type of film in the camera before you were done with the roll in the camera. So you’d spool back the film to the leader, put in a different film type and later come back, reload the original film, shoot however many exposures with the lens cap on to where you left off and finish off the original roll. Every once in awhile you’d forget exactly how many frames you’d shot with the original film and accidently shoot a frame or two on the already exposed film and you’d get this – a double exposure. A double exposure can be a cool thing when it’s intentional, but as you can see an unintentional shot just looks like a mixed up mess.
