Earlier I had a post on Chris Peris being the first rider in 26 years to race a BMW in AMA Superbike for 26 years. I removed the post because I overlooked the fact that Eric Pinson actually raced a BMW in the American Superbike opener at Daytona a few weeks ago. Even though he may not have known it at the time Eric made history at Daytona by being the first rider since 1984 to race a BMW in AMA Superbike. He finished 15th in the first Daytona Superbike round.  If Peris can finish inside the top-10 this weekend it would be the first top-10 American Superbike finish for BMW since David Emde took fourth at Loudon in 1981.
