More from Indianapolis Raceway Park in April of 1992 – this time it’s Tray Batey leading early in the B Superstock final over Fritz Kling and Kurt Hall. Notice how Fritz sees that Tray has left maybe a foot-and-a half of room on the inside of the turn and he’s looking to stuff it up inside. Hall seems to sense that Fritz is making a move and he’s sort of staying a little wide in case there’s contact between Batey and Kling. I remember this was a really good race. Eventually it came down to Kling and Hall on the final lap. Kling made a bold move when he went around Hall through IRP’s high-speed turn one and then the two leaders came upon a batch of slower riders at one of the most technical parts of track. Kling weaved his way through the traffic cleanly, Hall didn’t and that was the difference. Kling took the checkered flag winning $500 in Kawasaki contingency money.
