Dean Hayes races the DAK Racing Suzuki at Indianapolis Raceway Park in April of 1992. DAK Racing was one of the leading WERA National Endurance teams of the early 1990s. I’m not certain of the team’s history, but I seem to remember they finished second to Team Suzuki Endurance at the 24 Hours of Nelson Ledges in 1991 or ’92. Again, memory is a little fuzzy, but I think DAK stood for Devastating Asphalt Kneedraggers or something to that effect.

Hey DAK Racing WON the Nelson Ledges 24 hour in 1991 and finished 2nd in 1992…..DAK beat Team Suzuki at Gratten 8 hour in 1992 with Tommy Wilson, Dean Hayes, Scott Seferian (deceased), and Steve Heilman…..we added Ralph Johnson and Woody Dethrege for the 24 hour events….sure was fun 20 years ago….they called me the “BIG DAK” …..see ya at the track sometime….Rod Kirian, owner DAK RACING.
