A DVD was sent to me a week or so ago and I just had the opportunity to watch it. The movie is called “Back Track”, a documentary about early motocross racing with archival footage and excellent interviews with Marty Smith, Billy Grossi, Kent Howerton, Gary Jones, Warren Reid, Jim Pomeroy.

The interviews were done in 2003, but this DVD is timeless. The old video and photographic footage from the 1970s are worth the price alone, but the interviews are what really put this over the top. With Jim Pomeroy’s passing in 2006, it makes this interview footage even that much more valuable. The production value is excellent and the storyline well put together.

I highly recommend this DVD to anyone interested in the history of motocross or who grew up watching the sport in the 1970s.
