Bryan Smith.
Two AMA Hall of Famers have joined to form one of the most talked about teams going into the 2010 AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Series; Bill Werner and Jay Springsteen.
Bill Werner was a legendary racing mechanic for the Harley-Davidson Motor Company who tuned motorcycles that carried Gary Scott, Jay Springsteen and Scott Parker to a total of 130 National Championship Wins and 13 AMA Grand National Championships.
Jay Springsteen is considered one of the most talented AMA Grand National flat-track racers of all time with 40 National Wins and 3 AMA Grand National Titles.
Bryan Smith, formerly of the Screaming Eagle Harley team, has agreed to race Kawasakis in the 2010 Grand National Flat Track circuit in both the Expert Singles and Expert Twins classes.
Werner-built Kawasaki flat tracker.
Smith will race on the Werner Springsteen Racing Kawasaki team, alongside Chaz Springsteen, nephew of racing legend Jay Springsteen. Springsteen will compete in the Pro Singles class.
Smith will ride the Kawasaki Ninja 650 twin in the Grand National Expert Twins Class and the Kawasaki KX 450 in the Grand National Expert Singles Class. Chas Springsteen will ride a KX 450 in the Pro Singles class. Jay Springsteen will serve as a team coach and mentor, while legendary tuner Bill Werner will prepare the equipment.
I’m really looking forward to watching this team progress.

With Bryan on the team we’ll get to see what that Kawi can really do.

I think Bryan will excel at the hard pack miles like Springfield and Indy, and this bike will do very well on the cushion tracks as well…
With a rider like Bryan and masterminds like Werner and Springer this Kawi will be a winning ride.
I am definitely getting excited for this season to get here…

Cool to hear Springer is back into the flat track game. No doubt Smith is a good choice. But kind of suprised there is not a #2 rider for the twins class. Cant wait to see the results comin in, and hope that AMA Pro Racing can live up to their promise to run at Pomona again in 2010, and I can see it in person.
