Flyin’ Brian Myerscough

This is a 1979 press kit photo of factory Suzuki motocross rider Brian Myerscough. In the late 1970s Brian was considered one of the fastest young motocross riders in the country. He twice was crowned national World Mini Grand Prix Motocross Champion as a youth rider. He won a pair of AMA 125cc Nationals for Team Suzuki before hypoglycemia cost him the best years of his career.

David Bailey once wrote about Myerscough:

I still remember Brian for his style. Besides his riding style, it was the way he wore his JOFA mouth guard, the way his name curved over his number on his jersey and the way he bent his visor were all things that really set him apart. He didn’t win any titles as a professional, but he oozed style and a lot of people tried to copy him.
