Sandy Wins Kawasaki Cash

Bob Sandy (12) leads Dean Hayes (directly behind Sandy) en route to winning a WERA B Superstock race at Putnam Park in Mt. Meridian, Indiana, in 1992. Riders like Sandy won decent money from Kawasaki chasing club contingency races. he Suzuki GSXR750 was the club racing machine of choice through the late 1980s, but Sandy raced Kawasakis in B Superstock and Production races well before the bike became more popular by 1992. It gave him a jump start on the competition when Kawasaki upped its contingency payouts.
