An interview with Akron motorcycle collector Jack Morris.
Jack wrote an unpublished manuscript about Akron, Ohio’s motorcycling history. The manuscript is in the special collections of the Akron-Summit County Library.
Motorcycle historian Larry Lawrence conducted the interview and was joined at Jack’s house by Larry Barnes of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America and Phil Franz Jr., former AMA National Hillclimber.

my name is Mark Shepherd. my family used to live next door to morris’s in the 1950’s & 60’s on Darnell dr.my grandfather james gregg used to own a large apple orchard on darnell dr.I was not born till 1966,but I grew up hearing stories about jack and his old cars and motorcycles. since my dad was a old car collector too,and that is were my love for old cars started. I moved from akron in 1983 to jupiter fl,But each time I return to akron I always try to get to jacks house.those stories never get old,and I aways learn somthing on each visit.there are very few people as kind and real as jack .”thanks for doing the story on jack”
