This had to be 1988, 1989 or maybe 1990, but I can’t quite place this as Daytona. Grassy embankment in the background?

Yep, 1989. I updated the post. For sure it’s Daytona. It’s the only race Wimmer and Whitham raced here in the US. Also I know exactly where I took these photos. It’s the exit of the chicane. The grass you see in the background in the embankment that overlooks the chicane and the infield lake.
