Mid-Ohio Superbike Podium (1991)

The 1991 Mid-Ohio Superbike race proved to be pivotal for two riders. Tom Kipp had the lead most of the race, but got caught in heavy lapped traffic with a few laps to go. That allowed Thomas Stevens and Miguel Duhamel, who had been over three second behind Kipp, to catch the leader. Stevens got by first. Kipp and Duhamel battled mightily for second allowing Stevens to get away. In the end Duhamel was finally able to make a pass stick to take second over Kipp.

It proved to be the only AMA Superbike win for Stevens (who went on to win the championship that year). Unfortunately for Kipp, who seemingly had this race in the bag, he never won an AMA Superbike race.
