A big congratulations goes out to Logan Scherb, of Decatur, Texas and Kevin Vance, from Williamsfield, Ill., for both qualifying for their first AMA Grand National at Bulls Gap, Tennessee, this past Saturday. With the depth of talent and only 18 starting spots it’s tough to make a national. More riders usually have to pack it in the truck than race the main.

The cool thing in the Grand National Series is the camaraderie between riders. I saw a half-dozen riders come up and congratulate Scherb after he finished third in his heat race to go directly into the main.

He was pumped when I went over to talk with him. I’m sure Kevin Vance was as well.
